Another day, another player in trouble with the law

And this time it's a member of my own Miami Dolphins. Second year defensive tackle Fred Evans was arrested early Saturday morning after police needed tasers to subdue him.

The 6-foot-4, 305-pound Evans, 23, was charged with battery on a police officer, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and trespassing.

The police report said that officers were sent to an argument Evans was reportedly having with a taxi driver. Police said Evans refused to get out of the cab, and when they attempted to restrain him with handcuffs, he and police had a "physical struggle" according to Miami Beach police spokesperson Bobby Hernandez.

Evans was a 7th-round pick last year and was figuring to be battling with the other young guys, Rod Wright, Kevin Vickerson and rookie Paul Loliai for playing time on the defensive line behind veterans Keith Traylor and Vonnie Holiday.

Coach Cam Cameron has already said that he does not condone this sort of behaviour and that he'll deal with it very seriously. And he's proven during his short time at Miami that he really wants to fill the roster with high character guys.

Randy McMichael has already been released, Dan Wilkinson's contract has been terminated and Manny Wright and Marcus Vick were also let go. We all know that Ricky Williams is as good as gone, and now Evans could also be added to that list. Why these guys can't stay out of trouble is really beyond me...
