Dolphins finaaaaaally acquire Green

After what seems to be an eternity, the Miami Dolphins finally acquired Trent Green from the Chiefs. Miami sends a fifth round pick to K.C. that could turn into a fourth if Green reaches certain incentives.

I'm happy that Miami didn't give up more than a fifth rounder for Green right now. You can go through my archives and see how many times I've argued against giving up a lot for a 36-year old rental quarterback coming off a season where he had a major concussion.

But adding Green finally does add some stability to the quarterback situation. We still don't know how far along Culpepper is and I doubt that Cleo Lemon will turn out to be a great starter in this league. So Green can come in and keep the seat warm for John Beck, who we all are expecting to be the future qb of this team.

I'm just wondering what will happen with Culpepper now. Will he get released? Will he request a trade? Or does Miami let him battle it out with Green?

Culpepper came out and said that he was the quarterback of this team, but a few days ago he changed his tune and told reporters that he'd ask for a trade or his release if Green was acquired, so it will be very interesting to see how this plays out.
