And you thought that Latrell Sprewell had a tough time feeding his family...
I have a fantasy football draft tomorrow night and one of the guys that'll be high on my list is Travis Henry. Henry is a good back and he'll be a great fit in Denver's system and like the scouts say, he hits the hole hard when he's running the ball. Well, I didn't really expect Travis to be "hitting the hole" that hard...
Henry has fathered 9 kids with 9 different women and he was looking at jail time because he was owing about $ 9800 in child support. Travis avoided having to go to a federal ass-pounding prison by borrowing money from his former employer, the Tennessee Titans.
The first thing that popped into my mind was why a man that just signed a 22 million dollar contract in the off-season needed to borrow any money at all, but the article explains it all for us.
Seeliger wrote that the football player displayed "bad judgment in his spending habits," dropping $100,000 for a car and $146,000 for jewelry.
[...]
Edlin, though, said Henry collected much less than $1 million after taxes, and he said much of it went to debts. "He doesn't have any money," Edlin said. "The guy has significant financial issues."
Yes, nice to see Travis copying MC Hammer's portfolio. But this gives me even more reason to draft him given the chance. The man needs all the yards that he can get on the field because you know, mouths need to be fed and bills need to be paid.
Let's just hope that the Broncos O-line doesn't have as much break down in protection as Travis has experienced throughout the years. And yes, there's a picture of Shawn Kemp, a man that has been very generous with the spread of his seed himself...
