Where would we be without this man
Sunday Night Baseball, Braves vs. Phillies and Espn's lead baseball analyst Joe Morgan just let us know that starting pitching is the most important part of the rotation.
I always thought that hitting and baserunning were the most important parts of a rotation, so I'm utterly thankful that Joe's here to correct me in my flawed thinking.
Update :
As the game goes on, Joe drops some more beauties. Joseph compared Mark Teixeira's acquisition to that of Fred McGriff in 1993 and while I've also made that comparison, Joe added that McGriff changed the Braves organization for the next decade. That's nice and all but McGriff was a Brave from '93 'till '97 and that's not really a decade by my count.
Joe then added that McGriff gave the Braves the confidence to be a winning ballclub. Again a beautiful compliment, only Joe ignores the fact that the Braves were in the World Series in both 1991 and 1992. Being the two-time defending league champs is the definition of being a "winning ballclub".
