Good Super Bowl pick Shannon Sharpe...

Week 3 is almost complete and certain teams are starting to show what they're made of while others are still somewhat of an enigma. After giving it some thought, I broke it down like this...

  • A few teams out there are just plain bad. The Vikings need a quarterback like I need a life, the Chiefs need just about everything, the Raiders and Browns are painful to watch while the Falcons, Dolphins and Bills look to be positioning themselves for that first overall pick. When I was saying that Miami and Atlanta are the two worst teams in football, I seemed to forget about Buffalo and that they also fit into that category.
  • Oh, and let's not forget about St. Louis. They really, really suck donkey balls. Awesome Super Bowl pick Shannon Sharpe.
  • We got a few teams out there that are really, really good. The Colts just keep on winning, the Patriots are flat out blowing teams away, with and without the aid of cameras. The Steelers are solid and over in the NFC, the Cowboys and Packers look to be for real. I expected a lot from Dallas this year and I predicted that win last night in Chicago...but still, that looked a bit too easy.
  • Which brings us to the next point. The Bears are overrated. The defense is still solid, but that offense does not scare anyone, especially if Grossman is still lining up under center. Will Brian Griese be better? I dunno, but it's high time we find out.
  • The other overrated team might be the Baltimore Ravens. Great defense, still not a lot happening on offense and letting teams back into games for some reason. And what the hell has happened to Samari Rolle? Try to cover someone every so now and then Samari...
  • We've got some middle of the pack/decent looking teams that I'm not totally sold on. Jacksonville (where did the running game go), Denver (Jay Cutler), Washington (complete collapse yesterday) and Tennessee (we'll see tonight).
  • There are the teams who've been brought back down to earth, being San Francisco, Detroit and Houston. Someone on the CBS pre-game show said that Matt Millen would be CEO of the year. No, no he won't.
  • And lastly, we've got the teams who I'm not ruling out yet, being Philly, New Orleans (we'll see tonight also) and San Diego. Which brings me to my point. San Diego has had a brutal schedule the first 3 weeks and for them to be 1-2 might be understandable...but still, you don't fire a coach after a 14-2 season and replace him with Norv Turner. You just don't. There must be a rule about somewhere...
  • Oh, and awesome that my Dolphins have no defense anymore. We're 0-3, will probably win two games this year if we're lucky and when our anemic offense somehow puts up 28 points, the defense gives up 31. What the fuck is that all about. That's like the Bengals D holding someone to 7 points, but then losing because the offense only managed a field goal. But hey, welcome back Ronnie Brown. See coach Cameron...when you give Ronnie the ball a lot, good things tend to happen. Let's keep that trend going please?
  • It just occurred to me that Daunte Culpepper will lead the Raiders to a win over us next week..and then a few weeks later it will be Brady Quinn's turn. Can't wait to see how the media and fans will handle that. Awesome....
