I don't even know where to begin.....
Brady Quinn was there and Miami passed him up. Yesterday, while talking to a relative, we both agreed that the worst thing Miami could do, would be to select Ted Ginn Jr. A team with such big needs at quarterback and offensive line just could not afford to use the number 9 pick to select a wide receiver with injury concerns and that can't run routes. But somehow they did.
When Miami was on the clock, I just couldn't have been any happier. Quinn was there, and he was going to be the guy. The franchise qb. But since my ESPN was being a dick, I had to follow via Yahoo. Suddenly, as the page refreshed, it showed that Miami had picked Hurricanes
defensive end Baraka Atkins. A guy who should be going in rounds 3 or 4.

My heart threw up in my chest, but it was obviously some sort of glitch. But then the page refreshed and it showed Ted Ginn. A team that has started Damon Huard, Jay Fiedler, Sage Rosenfels, A.J. Feeley, Ray Lucas, Cleo Lemon , a gimpy Daunte Culpepper and Joey Harrington in the past few years......passes up a possible franchise quarterback.
Myabe Miami knows something about Quinn, or about Culpepper's recovery, because I don't have any other explanation. Now Kansas City may rape them in the possible Trent Green trade and I would serve them just right. Really, they just about deserve that now.
I don't know why this team can't make any decent personnel decisions. A few years ago, Drew Brees and Anquan Boldin were still on the board, and Miami picked Jamar Fletcher. The trouble with that pick was that Fletcher was going to be the NICKEL back. Not even one of the starting corners...but the NICKEL! Patrick Surtain and Sam Madison were in place, but still the team felt the need to pick a defensive back with the first pick.
Last year was no better. With Drew Brees and Culpepper available, they pick Culpepper and we all know what happened after that. Last year's first round pick Jason Allen is also being called a bust already...and now this.
Maybe Ginn turns into a great receiver and returner and teams up nicely with Chambers for some years to come. Maybe they pick a qb in round two that works out well...but right now I just don't see how I can keep rooting for this team.
